Released in 2025, Alakazam MEP 009 was included as the full-art foil promotional card inside the Mega Evolution Elite Trainer Box featuring Mega Gardevoir. The Mega Evolution ETBs were released with exclusive Alakazam or Riolu promos depending on the box version. (Pokémon)

Illustrated by Aya Kusube, the artwork places Alakazam on a rocky platform with both spoons drawn, surrounded by swirling blue, silver, purple, and orange energy. The cosmic background and sharp silver border make the card feel like Alakazam is gathering enough psychic power to distort the entire space around it.

The card also carries real personality through its gameplay design. Psychic Draw allows the player to draw three cards when Alakazam evolves, while Powerful Hand places damage counters based on the number of cards held—an especially fitting mechanic for a Pokémon known for its intelligence and mental control.
