Giratina Lv.X DP38 — Diamond & Pearl Black Star Promo PSA 8

A standout piece from the Diamond & Pearl era, Giratina Lv.X DP38 captures everything collectors love about late-2000s Pokémon: the classic silver border, explosive holographic finish, and the short-lived Level-Up mechanic that gave these cards such a distinct identity.

Released in 2009 as a Diamond & Pearl Black Star Promo, this artwork by Shizurow places Giratina front and center, surrounded by dark blue, silver, red, and gold tones that fit the Legendary Pokémon perfectly. The holofoil extends across the artwork and border, giving the card an unmistakable vintage presence that modern releases simply do not recreate.

The card features the disruptive Invisible Tentacles Poké-Body and the Darkness Lost attack, which sends opposing Pokémon and their attached cards to the Lost Zone instead of the discard pile. Between the Lv.X design, Lost Zone mechanics, and Giratina’s imposing artwork, DP38 remains a memorable promotional card from one of Pokémon’s most experimental eras.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTE: There is a crack on the back of the PSA holder beside the QR code, approximately the same height as the QR code. The crack is confined to the holder and does not extend to or affect the card itself. This should ordinarily be handled through PSA’s reholder service rather than requiring the card to be regraded, although PSA makes the final determination.
