Few scenes in One Piece represent friendship as powerfully as Vivi’s farewell to the Straw Hats, and this alternate-art Leader card is built entirely around that moment.

The artwork recreates the conclusion of the Alabasta storyline from Episode 129, when Vivi chooses to remain behind and help rebuild her kingdom rather than continue sailing with the crew. As the Going Merry pulls away, she asks whether they will still call her their friend if they ever meet again. Unable to answer without publicly exposing Vivi’s connection to pirates, the Straw Hats silently raise their left arms and reveal the matching X marks. 

Those X marks originally served as a hidden sign that could separate the real crew from an imitation, but by the end of Alabasta they had become something far more meaningful—a wordless promise that Vivi would always remain one of them. The card captures the emotional payoff perfectly, placing Vivi in the foreground with tears in her eyes and her fist raised while the Straw Hats return the gesture behind her.
