Shanks began the story as the pirate who shaped Luffy’s entire idea of freedom, courage, and what it meant to live on the sea. The wanted-poster design directly recalls Chapter 957, when the Marines publicly revealed the bounties of the era’s most powerful pirates. Shanks’ official bounty was announced as 4,048,900,000 Berries, and the chapter showed his current wanted poster alongside those of the other Emperors, Whitebeard, and Gol D. Roger. It was also revealed that Shanks had held the title of Emperor for six years, making the image far more than a character portrait—it represents the World Government formally recognizing the scale of his power and influence. 

The artwork strips away the brighter colors usually associated with Shanks and rebuilds him through weathered parchment, heavy black ink, scattered stains, and the unmistakable WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE presentation. His calm expression and three scars are placed directly at the center, creating an image that feels less like a trading card and more like an artifact pulled from inside the world of One Piece.
