Long before the raid on Onigashima reached its most explosive battles, the Straw Hats first had to disappear into the closed world of Wano—and for Roronoa Zoro, that meant becoming Zoro-Juurou.

Zoro adopted the local identity while operating undercover as a wandering ronin in Wano Country. The alias was introduced when the story returned to him in Chapter 909 and Episode 892, placing the swordsman inside a culture modeled around samurai, strict social order, and public executions. It was a natural setting for Zoro, but one where his temper and sense of justice made staying unnoticed nearly impossible. (One Piece Wiki)

This Treasure Rare captures that version of Zoro in motion rather than posing him like a traditional character card. He charges through a crowded Wano street with a sword drawn over his shoulder, while panicked townspeople scatter behind him. The tilted perspective, flying debris, and loose streaks of color make the illustration feel like a frozen frame taken directly from the middle of a chase.

The name Zoro-Juurou gives the card more historical weight than a standard Zoro release. It represents the period when he temporarily traded his infamous “Pirate Hunter” identity for the appearance of a nameless local swordsman—only to continue drawing attention everywhere he went. The Wano clothing, tied-up green hair, and visible chest scar firmly connect the artwork to his post-timeskip journey.

The printed card code, ST18-004, originated with the Purple Monkey D. Luffy Starter Deck as a purple Straw Hat Crew Super Rare. This version was reimagined as the English Treasure Rare included with the 2024 Emperors in the New World release, which launched on December 13, 2024.
